Final Submission

Because of Covid-19 I am unable to added further improvements to my magazine; however, I am proud of the results I have turned in thus far. I am unable to edit my magazine pages due to lack of technology/equipment. If I had InDesign, I would switch the website and page number on the article pages so that they mirrored each other. Another edit I would have made was removing the hyphens in the sub-headings in the article pages.

Question: How did you integrate technologies--software, hardware and online --in this project? With the integration of technology, I was able to create my magazine successfully. Camera I was able to produce clean, crisp, professional photos due to the camera I used. I used a Canon Rebel T6 and was able to have decent wide angle, close-up, and low angle shots. To enhance the professional look of the photos I used Adobe InDesign. Both technologies allow my photos to be high quality in my final submission for the magazine. Editing InDesign made editing and designing my magazine extremely easy, allowing me to produce a professional magazine cover and article pages. I was able to transfer my photos into Adobe InDesign, keeping the high resolution of the photos. I was able to edit the photos; gray scaling, color correcting, and cropping each photo in InDesign. My computer allowed me to upload and download software that help me produce my magazine. I relied ...

Question: How did your production skills develop throughout the project? Technology My skill has improved significantly through the project. At the beginning of the school year I had little experience, only being able to use Publisher. I was able to create my 1 st edits of my magazine; however, the ending results were mediocre. I upgraded to Adobe InDesign, which increase the professionalism of my magazine. In InDesign I learned how to justify text and place a border around my photos. The resolution of my magazine was of high quality due to InDesign’s ability to export at a higher resolution.   Techniques Throughout the year, my skills in taking photos, interviews, and sticking to schedules has improved significantly. In the beginning, I had little experience with a canon camera and had no background in taking nature photos. This project allowed me to take various angles of environmental photographs. I was also able to develop and edit the photos for m...

My product focuses specifically on Florida, so most if not all of my audience would comprise of Florida residence. My magazine will attract those who have a passion about nature and committed to improving the environment. The topics of my articles are focused on Florida’s environment and the various ecosystems in the state. The eye-catching photos of nature and articulate writing style of the articles should attract my target audience: those who care about Florida’s environment. Marketing Plan Online Advertisements Online advertisements will include discounts on subscriptions and print magazines. These will be placed on social media cites and any frequently used websites such as YouTub...

Question: How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues? My cover page employs conventional color theme to emphasize a professional look to my publication. The close-up of the Rosary pea adds color and gives a focal point to my magazine, which also helped to identifying the theme of the magazine. I incorporated mostly browns and greens to portray a more natural atmosphere to my product. I also used conventional fonts and colors for the title and headline. I used light yellow for the headline because the background mainly incorporated darker colors. I challenged conventions for my magazine is by focusing on a plant for my cover page instead of an animal. All the other magazines I researched focal point consisted of some type of animal.   For the table of contents, I followed the idea of having different images from separate locations. In other environmental ma...

Third Quarter Submission

Revisions For the cover, I decided to change the font of all the text on the page. I wanted to add a more sharper and cleaner feel to the cover page. I also changed the positioning of the subheading because it was hard to see against the  colored  vegetation  in the background . I revised the contents page by removing the yellow boarder around the page so that it matched the design of the two-article page. I also changed the  photos  because I felt that  a closer photo of the flower would add color to the page. For the first article page,  I changed the photograph and the position of the smaller image because I felt that the previous photo was to dark and dull and looked uneven in the corner of the page.  A nother edit I did was the font of the text because I want ed  a darker and bold er  font.    For the second article page, I  had the least amount of  revision s ,   however ...
