The global circulation of National Geographic is approximately 6.7 million, including U.S. circulation of 3.5 million. The cover page includes the title of the magazine, National Geographic, in the background located at the top of the page. The magazines subheading is in the foreground in the middle of the cover page. Each title is in plain white text, possible demonstrating the articles professionalism. The issue’s subheading, Last of Its Kind, connects with the cover picture, sporting a rhino laying on the ground with a man resting his forehead on the rhino. The color scheme composes of greens, greys and browns, displaying a neutral tone to the articles cover. The magazine is broken up into sections where the magazines articles are presented first then 3-5 pages of full-page photographs of wildlife. Each article has the same cream color incorporated into the article pages. On page 34, the front cover article is shown, titled: Lessons from the Lasts of His Kind. One half of the next page is a photo of the last male white rhinoceros with the author and photographer Ami Vitale. The article proceeds on the next page in segments, with a cream border surrounding the edges of the article giving a neutral theme to the article. The magazine also issues an “Explore” section from pages 57-68, which contains illustration of a variety of animals in a black background with text about the current threat faced by each animal.  

Displayed before the table of contents, the first advertisement is 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. The advertisement takes up the whole page and illustrates a bright orange car contrast against the green mountains in the background. Another advertisement is the Bulleit Bourbon whiskey, on page 34. This full-page advertisement catches readers attention with the distinguished golden-brown whiskey bottle. Each of these advertisements are mainly aimed for older men and women, displaying the issues target audience.
